BEY'S STRAIGHT TALK MARKETING JOURNAL

Vol. 24   -   December 2011

Looking Forward to the New Year

Welcome to the December issue of the Bey's Straight Talk Marketing Journal. Here we are in the final month of 2011. As we've all been receiving special offers for the upcoming holidays, I started thinking about the state of the economy and what marketers have to look forward to in the coming months...

Do you think the economy will get better? Will things stay the same or will it get worse?

Well, I can't say, but an older man once told me: "Time is the greatest fortune teller the world has ever known." The best we can do is hope for the best and prepare for the worse.

I've read many times that there are always millionaires made during tough economic times. Here are a few marketing tips  I have learned and tried to apply over the past few months.

  • Sell to desire, Don't try to create It.  -  J.F. Jim Straw
  • Avoid false promises and silly hype, people are tired of hearing it.
  • Considering current economic conditions, ask yourself, why would anyone want or need what you're trying to sell
  • Do your research, once you choose a niche, Stay Focused
  • You can't reinvent the wheel, find out what people already      want and then ad your own unique twist to it
  • Learn techniques to qualify potential buyers
  • Once you build your list, stay in touch with them and let them know that you want to hear from them. Segment your list, treat your buying customers like Royalty, they deserve special treatment

Remember, marketing is a continuous learning experience. It is not an exact science. This is why you must test to find what works best for you.

However, it may not always be the best thing for you to jump on every new trend that comes along.

Finally, here are some marketers you can learn from. They will improve your marketing education immensely:

J.F. Jim Straw, Online Mentor Magazine, Ken McCarthy, The System Seminar, Michael Senoff, Hard to Find Seminars, Yanik Silver, Tyler Hicks, IWS Money, Dan S. Kennedy, Michael Masterson (Retired), Raymon Williamson, John Carleton, Lori Steffen, Jeff Wark, Net Content Solutions, Glenn Livingston, How to Double Your Business, Terry Dean.

These are just a few marketers I am learning from and I suggest that you check some of them out for yourself.
